George III Tea Caddy in mahogany and satinwood C 1790

George III Tea Caddy, complete with lid, of lovely and rare design, octagonal in shape and inlaid all over with boxwood dots, a satinwood oval to the top and with a rich use of various woods for the decorative stringing and cross banding.

In the late 18th century tea was precious and cabinet makers produced beautiful containers to store the tea in.
