A fine George III Satinwood demi-lune card table of the Sheraton period

A fine George III Satinwood demi-lune card table of the Sheraton period, of mellow colour and patination, having rare, wide crossbanding to the top,
consisting of beautifully inlaid veneers of various woods depicting stylized flowers, between kingwood and tulipwood banding. The apron is crossbanded in purplewood, which, being dark, was often used with satinwood as a contrast. There are four oval paterae with flowers at the top of the square tapered legs, which end in spade feet. All four sides of the legs are panelled in satinwood, crossbanded, with ebony and boxwood stringing. Despite all this detail, the effect is one of simple elegance typical of Sheraton furniture at its best.

In very good condition and slightly larger than most card tables.
